BIM (Building Information Modelling)
Integrated Architecture has been successfully using Building Information Modelling for the past two years from the early stages of project design right through to the production of fully collaborative construction models, combining Structural and Mechanical and Electrical Information into one fully co-ordinated model.
Our experience has demonstrated how incredibly powerful this design process can be. Design co-ordination between consultants is managed comprehensively within the 3D model at an earlier stage, reducing problems on site and providing our clients with much better design information. Using this technology our Clients obtain a much greater understanding of how the built project will look internally and externally, helping to fulfill the design brief with much greater clarity.
During the design process the BIM model is also used in conjunction with our environmental software (Design Builder), which allows us to assess window openings for natural daylighting, ventilation and the thermal performance of the building seasonally. This process ensures that the spaces we design are as 'passive' as possible, creating lower energy buildings and better designed internal environmental conditions.
Integrated Architecture also provides a Manufacturers' BIM Content service, designing and compiling data rich 3D BIM content models (Revit Families) for Manufacturers, allowing them to be used in projects as part of the fully integrated BIM model. BIM content is produced to the highest standard, integrating the Manufacturer's product specification information into the model to their specific requirements.
