University of Gloucestershire Nursing Programme

Integrated architecture has recently completed Phase 1 of a series of alterations and refurbishments to create new spaces for the Nursing course at the University of Gloucestershire. This phase included creation of a fully kitted clinical study area with storage and utility areas and a lecture space. We provided a full service for this project including: architecture, structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering and quantity surveying.

Extension and alteration of Kendal Road Baptist Church

The extension and alteration work at Kendal Road Baptist Church has recently been completed. The project involved the redevelopment of an existing church to provide a larger, multifunction hall together with a assocaiated administration areas. The site is located on an urban site in a residential area thus limiting the scale of development. Consultation with the Church and local community was paramount.

Phase 1 of a new girls' boarding house for Cheltenham College has just been completed in time for the start of term. The project involved the refurbishment of a Grade II Listed building within the Conservation Area for which we provided both architecture and structural services.

The Benefits of a Multi-discipline Service

One of the benefits of having in-house engineers is the ability to test designs prior to submitting planning. In the example below, our engineers modelled the ventilation and internal temperatures of a new classroom block to optimise window area and opening lights. By ensuring compliance with the regulations at an early stage, we can avoid the need for re-design and the consequential delays to the programme later in the design process.

Cleeve School Heating System Replacement

This project at Cleeve School for a large heating system replacement was funded through the Education Funding Agencies Condition Improvement Fund. The project will run over a two year period and one of the challenges is maintaining heating services to the school throughout the project.

Technical design of this project has been carried out in BIM software using the very latest MagiCAD plugin design suite for Autodesk REVIT. This new software has enabled us optimize and fully model the design to ensure the school will benefit from the lowest possible running costs.

Listed Building Refurbishment Project Underway

We are very pleased to be working with Cheltenham College again, this time on the refurbishment of two Grade II Listed Buildings in Cheltenham to form a new girls' boarding house. We are providing both architectural and engineering services for this project which commenced on site last month.
