Piecemeal development of the Grade II Listed buildings had created a space cluttered with lean-to accretions containing storage and toilet facilities. The College required a new reception and function feature to form the natural beginning and end point for tours around the campus. The solution, a radical de-cluttering, comprised the insertion of steel galleries and a glass roof to form a hub, responsive to the various functions around it. The quality of light creates an inviting ambiance suitable for numerous activities including: informal interviews and interaction, exhibitions, private reflection and relaxation. Approximate contract value £1.4m.
